Tigger: 1997-2008

Low Key Watersports mascot Tigger, born September 26, 1997, passed away Thursday, May 1, 2008.
As many readers know, Tigger was striken with an unusual and debilitating disease earlier this year. Tigger fought back and made a miraculous recovery, but relapsed in recent weeks.
Even in his final weeks Tigger did what Tigger always did best. He made everybody who came by to see him smile.
If you knew Tigger, take a minute to remember him…then smile.

It’s been around for a while, but I love this poem http://www.petloss.com/poems/maingrp/rainbowb.htm
Tigger will be missed.
May 7th, 2008 08:23
I will miss Tigger too. He was a great dog, and definitely a fixture on STJ.
May 7th, 2008 09:02
So sad. We met Tigger only once on the Cruz Bay beach- he was wet, playing ball, and having a great time- living the life every dog dreams of. We also nursed our Golden back to health a number of years ago and were blessed with two more quality years with him.
I’d like to believe we’ll someday be reunited with our special K9 kids (like Tigger) in heaven…….
May 7th, 2008 09:07
What a beautiful dog Tigger was. He will be missed, but what a wonderful addition to Heaven!
May 7th, 2008 09:13
My wife and I met Tigger on our honeymoon – we have recently lost both of our old labs and know what a loss it is. Our thoughts and prayers are with Tigger and his St. John family.
May 7th, 2008 09:18
Tigger, I we never met, but I’ll miss you…thank you for showing us how to never give up.
May 7th, 2008 10:07
I am heartbroken to hear this news. Sweet Tigger.
May 7th, 2008 10:19
This is so sad……….
I know he will be in doggie heaven and watch over everyone……Dogs can be angels too
May 7th, 2008 10:37
Tigger had Angels watching over him all his life on St. John (his family), now it’s his turn to be the Angel who watches over them.
Good Bye Tigger…..I never met you, but I have, never the less, been touched by your presence.

May 7th, 2008 16:06
I’m so sad to hear about the passing of Tigger. My friends and I were looking forward to seeing him again this fall around Low Key Water Sports and the Beach Bar. Although we live thousands of miles away in Michigan, Tigger touched our lives and makes us smile everytime we talk about sharing a shower with an adorable dog with a mohawk. I know he is up in heaven now running around and enjoying all the french fries he wants. Tigger please say hi to my two beautiful cockers, Duke and Riley and let them know they are truly missed!
May 7th, 2008 16:08
Tigger please say hi to Fluffy, Muffy, Smokey Earl, and Samson for us…..
May 7th, 2008 17:10
What a beautiful old boy he was – I never met him except through the internet, but I was touched by his story and also all of the STJ regulars who visited him and tried to help when he fell ill. He will be missed by me too! Our thoughts are with you Anne Marie – you lost a good one.
May 7th, 2008 18:46
Tigger was so cool! We will miss seeing him hanging around and jumping into the water to greet the dive boat upon its’return.
May 7th, 2008 20:05

Our Guinness and Tigger sniffed butts a few times in the 2001-03 time frame. They’ll both be waiting by the Rainbow Bridge..Such a loss to those of us left behind.-(
May 7th, 2008 21:42
We are so sorry to hear about Tigger. We know the hole in your lives he has left. It is truly amazing how much a part of your everyday life they become. They are family members in every way. Only time will heal the hurt, but the unconditional love they give you will live on in your heart forever. Our hearts go out to you.
May 7th, 2008 21:48
Tigger, I have followed your illness for quite awhile. You are at peace now, you will be missed by many. All the best to your owners.
May 7th, 2008 22:20
So sorry!!!!!!!!!!
May 8th, 2008 06:33
While I am greatly saddened by the loss of Tigger, it occurred to me what a great life he had! We should all be so lucky to live in paradise and be greatly loved! Tigger touched so many lives, even people he has not personally met. Wouldn’t it be great to have t-shirts made with Tigger’s picture on them and have the proceeds go to animal care on St.John? That would truly be a fitting memorial. I’d buy 6…
May 8th, 2008 11:03
god Bless
May 8th, 2008 12:37
Great idea Carrie – I’d buy some too.
May 8th, 2008 14:08
Carrie & Tracy – they already have one at Low Key. Search “tigger” on this site and read the article “Hey, it’s a Tigger-tee”. I ordered 3 a couple of weeks ago … turns out it was rather timely.
May 8th, 2008 14:28
I threw a some fries on the ground here in Colorado in honor of Tigger. He will be missed.

May 8th, 2008 19:15
Well Tigger, 59 comments as of this posting! Since I have been following this blog pretty much daily since Jeff and Russ started it, that seemed like a lot to me. So, in honor of you Tig, I went back through all the previous entries to see just what was THE most popular entry in terms of the number of commenters. (Ruth, I actually did look at them all!) Guess what Tigger? You win!… Just like you won the hearts of so many lives you touched in your short span on this Earth. What a wonderful tribute to you, your parents and the folks who visit this site. Well done thou faithful servant!
May 8th, 2008 20:48
We stopped by twice to say “Hi” to Tigger on our visit a month ago and just missed seeing him both times. Sorry to hear the news. Best wishes…

So sorry for the loss. We loved seeing Tigger when we came in to the shop during our first visit to St. John in Dec. 07. He was a sweetie.
May 10th, 2008 10:58
I’m so sad to hear this — Tigger, I was hoping to meet you in a couple of weeks and give you a good ear-scratching. Please say hi to my Fergie Girl up in heaven — she’ll be sure to escort you to the 24-hour Steak Buffet (where they have all-you-can-eat french fries, too). Rest in peace, sweet one.
May 13th, 2008 20:11
Aw, this is such sad news about Tigger. Rest in peace good boy and run free and happy at the bridge. I think it is ever so appropriate and touching that the news of Tiggers psssing seems to have generated the most comments ever on your blog. We love our doggies!
