St. John Overlooks: Caneel Bay

Here’s a good place to pull over and check out St. John’s most-famous property. Not a bad little stop. And just think, Caneel Bay has a half dozen beaches just as pretty as this one.

I love Caneel and I think this is my favorite overlook. Thanks for taking me there.

ps - was there some subliminal message in this video? I thought I saw a word pop up on the screen - or maybe I need more coffee ;)

Is there a limit to how many times I can watch this? I LOVE LOVE LOVE the slow progression of the wide shots. Fantastic!

I’m still waiting for you to do the “freak-out” drive up past Marina Drive, to the spot that says “YOU ARE HERE.” The vista there is the best on the island.

    Pleeeeeeezzzzzzzzz.

Jeep cam with a swivel. You need to see from the left side as you go up.

Ten years ago this past March my hubby and I moved to St. John and we are thinking it’s time to come back for visit with our daughters. We’d like to show them where we lived up on Contant and have them experience the beautiful beaches…If anyone knows of a reasonable place for a family of four to stay in the low season can you email me at islandkids@comcast.net? Also, anyone know how to get in touch with Hillary and Scott? Last I heard Scott was at Morgan’s Mango but who knows if that is still the case!

Annie, Hilary and Scott now have a fabulous restaurant called Rhumblines! Just happen to have their card in my wallet. The phone is (340) 776-0303.

My first stop on my daily 6a.m. power walk when on island. It’s a favorite. Left (is that a pun?) yesterday after a 3 week stay. 41 years of visiting STJ.
