Island Blues shuts down, but…

It seems like we’re spending a lot of time talking about businesses that are closing. Add Coral Bay hot spot Island Blues to the list. It shut down Tuesday night. The place had been listed for sale for awhile, and then it was off the market but still for sale by owner and —

Hold on. Wait. What’s that? Um, ladies and gentlemen, this just in. Wait. What? We can’t say yet? Um, Okay then…We’ll be mum for now. (It’s Coral Bay after all.)

Um,soon come. (What! You want our kneecaps broken?)

If you two have broken kneecaps, who’ll drive the Jeepcam Jeep???? Who’ll film St. John’s hiking trails??? You can’t hobble around the Bongo Bongo kitchen with your Villa Vittles..you’ll drop something for sure!!!!
You guys just keep quiet until the time is right!!!!

It’s true, Bill and I decided to acquire the Island Blues lease as our second brewpub location. We are going to use water truck as fermenters.

    Cheers, RickG

I nearly cried when I read that island blues is closed. I have so many good memories from spending time there. If someone calls it a dump then they need to move to a big city and stay there. Some of the nicest people worked there who are very good family friends and I take offence.

Hey, they can’t let such a great sign go to waste! All they need is a good deck out back with more tables to take advantage of the great location and view. We had a really nice lunch there, and it was fun watching all the boats from the water’s edge.

Our fav spot on the Island. Loved the Chicken casadillas(sp?) And the hockey pucks holding down the bar napkins,(many which were courtesy of some of my northern hockey friends at Midd Coll, Norwich, Wiscon Superior, Plattsburgh. I can’t imagine IB not being there.

Will be back to Coral bay later this week, too bad, good place to drink but was getting a tad bit on the dumpy side. Dogs and cats hanging out inside begging for left overs was a bit much. More business for Mo!

About five years ago we took a couple of friends down to Coral Bay with us. My friend Jimmy looked at me, his type “A” friend, standing at Blues’ bar and said “JT, You look like if I could nail your feet to the floor, right where you’re standing, you’d be a happy man.” Kind of sums up my feelings, eh?

Personally I would eat at island blues anyday of the week than at skinny’s unless skinny’s went back to its old self. Now its just a stupid tourist trap that has too many tvs and plays the music way way way too loud!
