Southern hospitality comes to Island Blues

Meet Joan Hayes. She and hubby Jeff, from Raleigh, have been coming to St. John for almost two decades. Joan and Jeff are now officially the new owners of Island Blues.

What are their plans?

Joan says they want to capitalize on the music venue side of the place.

Officially owning Island Blues, and being ready to re-open Island Blues are two different things though. Joan and Jeff have a lot of sprucing up to do. They say give them a couple of weeks to get opened back up.

   Excellent, happy to hear that the location will continue, and with live music too! We hit Island Blues every other day during Blues Fest week and regular live music would be a draw for us.

   Congrats on your Island Blues acquisition! We’ve loved it for the past 3 years and keep our fingers crossed that you’ll be open during our stay 7/10-24. We have kids in Kernersville,so not too far from Raleigh. It must be so exciting to be “living the dream”!

   Congratulations Joan and Jeff!
   Just got back from STJ in May and spent several nights at Island Blues. We were very sad to hear it closed since we’ll be abck for two weeks next April (staying in Coral Bay). Now we know where we’ll be hangin’ out! Can’t wait!!
