Pond Bay Preview

Construction on the Pond Bay Club on Chocolate Hole is rocking, and probably breaking St. John records in terms of speed. This week a Beach Cottage model unit opened.
In our next video interview, meet the project manager, get a tour of the model and the grounds, find out why this project is moving so quickly and when they expect to be done. Until then, here’s a sneak peak inside.

Oh no. not another club..

Not much privacy in that can! yikes!

Is that bedroom and the tub in the same room?
We stayed right above pond bay in Nov and they were moving fast.
I hear Bob Emmett is one organized and disciplined guy. They have also been trying to get Pond Bay up and running for a decade or more.
I can not wait to see E’Spa……..

I think you’re right Parker, you can see that toilet from the living room couch…. I guess that would make for some odd after dinner conversation!

I like the decor. The bed design with the ottoman looks like Caneel.
What’s up with the toilet though? I would NEVER, EVER stay in a room set up like that. Some things are not meant to be shared!

I think it looks nice. I am not a fan of the project but they really look very nice.

I think you mean sneak peek, not paek as in Bordeaux Mtn. Peak. Sincerely, 8th grade spelling champ.

That looks like a Spy Cam video, shot from a camera cleverly disguised as a Heineken. Nice work.

Not so sure I like the bathroom right there in the bedroom like that! I’d have to put up some sort of divider screen or something.

Taking the “open floor plan” in new directions.
The decor doesn’t do much for me–but I am a St. Johnian adamantly opposed to this project since 1989, when they first created Club Mud on this site.

I know that you can see that toilet from the bedroom, the dining room as well as the living room,
Is it visible from the kitchen and garage as well?
“What’s that noise?”

Not loving the open-floor plan!!

An open master bedroom can be a good or a bad thing…
As for the toliet – I am going with that it is a bidet in the picture not a toliet – Not sure that would change anyone’s earlier objections considering they are the same thing but different…
December 27th, 2008 17:01
I always told my children that I would like an open-air bathroom in the caribbean like Richard Branson’s but, I think there is a blueprint oops in this design. YES! it is the potty – where is the beday??? (sorry about the spelling)

Guys,
In hindsight, what a stupid way to take that photo. This was a preview. In the finished villa private areas will be private.
December 27th, 2008 20:24
That one little wall will make a very big difference!
December 28th, 2008 17:48
AAAH, thanks for clarifying Russ!
I still would like to see a photo of the finished bathroom wall though, when it’s ready.
December 28th, 2008 18:48
Debbie – I put on my glasses and now I see the tank in the back – Toliet it is!
A half wall would be nice

This project, or at least plans for it, have been going on for quite some time. Various starts and stops have left the place a mess, so all and all I think that finally finishing up will be a good t’ing. The rooms look nice enough and I believe the grounds will also be nicely done. I am nostalgic about the “good old days” on St. John, but let’s face it, the place has been gentrified, and Pond Bay isn’t the first or the last of this trend. Hopefully they’ll be friendly to locals and environmentally responsible, but I kind of doubt it. We’ll see…

Ugh!!! When will the building stop!!! Leave St John alone!!!!!

cant stop money. good luck with that fight. as for the toliet wtf? why would you even think that was a good idea? i guess the rich have a diffrent view on things…
