Jeff -

Is there anywhere on the island that they could start a zipline tour? I saw it in St. Lucia, that would be something to experience.

Maybe a possible new business adventure for someone. By the way, Cruz Bay Watersports, by no way commercializes (sp?) the island.

Have a great day! It is 19 degrees right now is South Jersey.

I agree with the "a bit too Cancunish" remark. Everything has it's place and for those who enjoy, feel free, just keep it over at the fru fru Westin and it's "sandy" beach. One of the things I love about the beaches here is the quiet (okay, the occasional inflatable boat and truck blowing its horn barreling down the mountainside must be dealt with) although some friends who visit can't understand why I don't want water sports everywhere. The noise of waverunners, banana boats etc and the danger of one of thes knuckleheads konking me while I'm snorkeling, are the reasons. Enjoy Westin, and now I know where visitors can enjoy parasailing. And yes, I ahve parasailed in Barbados with a very questionable group and their more questionable harness...but it was cool!

Parasailing is fantastic! The crew at Cruz Bay Watersports are also a Blast! Several years ago, my daughter and myself went parasailing with them - it is so peaceful. There is a funny twist to this story - my husband and my son went up together, My daughter and myself were waving to them up in the sky - well, it ends up that my husband wasn't waving a friendly wave. It was more like "help me and get me back on the boat." He got air sick. He didn't know whether to puke or soil himself (I'm watching my manners). Well, I will definately do it again - on the other hand, my husband is sticking to snorkeling on Jost van Dyke.

All the activities with Cruz Bay is well worth it - keep up the great work guys!

It's really fun....very easy & a beautiful perspective/view. My only concern is that these types of activities tend to run in groups or invite other activities: parasailing, bungie jumping/rides, zip lines, etc. ....all fun things but so touristy & not how I picture STJ. Just a thought...

I took my son as a birthday gift during his visit to me. Being that I am terrified of heights, I thought half of the fun for him (who has bungie jumped in Thailand) would be seeing me cry, swear, or blow my cookies. It was a blast. The 'take off' was so gentle, I didn't realize how high we were until I looked down. DON'T LOOK DOWN and you'll be ok. It is so quiet and peaceful with the bird's eye views. Coming back on the boat was easy....down, down, down and the crew grabs your ankle and you sit on the deck. Go for it. P.S. I didn't do 2:3!!!!

Speaking of Cancun, my husband went parasailing off the beach there. I was pregnant at the time. He paid the money, got the instructions and THEN the guy used the bull horn to AWAKEN the boat driver and spotter that were anchored out in the water. I spent the whole time thinking: this baby needs a father! So, my advice is to make sure your boat operator is alert and not inebriated! Hmmmm, you asked for reassuring words, not advice. Do it! It's got to be safer than hanging out of a helicopter to take pictures:

I have parasailed only once, in Aruba. I was dating a really cute guy and it was too windy to windsurf that day so we went parasailing. Not too bright, huh? While it was cool to see things from that perspective, if it is too windy to windsurf, it is too windy to parasail. Lesson learned...

Parasailing is a breeze! You gently float up & gently float down to the boat deck.
Now if they build a bungie jump ride:
