Old metal boat resurfaces

Our folk hero from 2008 may be returning to the public. The old metal boat, beached and abandoned in Cruz Bay, bought by a guy named Michael, repossessed by DPNR, taken to Coral Bay in an owner dispute and then which ultimately vanished, has resurfaced.
Here is it is near the boatyard in Benner Bay on St. Thomas sporting new paint and engines. And birds.
No response yet from now publicity-shy Michael, seen here with his prized possession in February 2008.

Michael has obviously put a lot of work into this boat. It’s great to see the progress he’s made.
Hi Michael, from your “internet family”.

I don’t care what anyone else says…
I still think the old boat’s sexy.

I feel that I have some attachment to that old boat as well, having been the winner of the contest that Rob (above) speaks of. Thanks Michael for taking such good care of “our” boat. Most recently, I tried to give that boat to someone as a birthday gift, well, a part of my shared interest in it anyway, but didn’t know where it had been re-located. (Don’t worry Michael, I think you’ll be okay with my chosen birthday recipient. She’s a great lady.) Glad to see that the old tug is still afloat and looking so great! Ali~

That old boat has come a long way. Michael must be very proud. Any word on what he’s calling it?

Does anyone know what type of boat it is? It looks like it might be outfitted for fishing…I’ve just never seen a boat shaped like that before…

Somebody probably knows better than me, but the boat was brought down by a dude in Choclate hole ( who also brought
in a bunch of other military surplus stuff, including a truck and trailer for this boat, and the
Pinzgauer (sp) vehicles of which there is only one or two on the road anymore. His name escapes me, I had a glass of wine at his house….starts with an A
