When it rains, it pours

Rain starved St. John got a little more than it was asking for Monday. Some estimates say 6 inches by noon, and it continued raining for hours longer.

Wow! We had a experience this past summer. We were coming from Cinnamon Bay back to the Westin. The heavens opened up. Well, luckily we were right by the Starfish and I needed to get some groceries. We sat in the lot for about a half hour – then, the games began. We headed home. I think we were on the approach of Jacobs Ladder. Cars were sliding down the hill backwards -and a jeep actually crashed and bounced off the wall. We pulled over in a empty lot and waited it out again. My husband & I came to the conclusion – our family had nothing to do,and after seeing the accident right in front of us, we had nothing but time. We sat for about another half hour then headed home.
Have a good Tuesday!

I’ll bet those waterfalls were a pretty sight, for them that went out in the bush to see ‘em…

It definitely made for a memorable travel day. We drove on the sidewalk to get past the flood by the tennis courts. It was pouring while returning the Jeep to Mr. Sutton…he just waved his hand and said, “looks good.” Then we huddled under the shelter at the ferry, surrounded by people smartly adorned in garbage bags. The walk of woe became a sprint for cover.
One day removed it’s kind of funny. At the time, it was not ideal.
