Front Yard going…going

And pretty much gone.

The Front Yard building, which closed last year, is gone, demolished this week, making way for the owners’ new project.

The landlord turned the real estate into Smith Square Parking, a short term parking lot, in February, but Frankie Smith told us at the time they had other plans for the property.

How weird to see nothing there!! First our beloved Courtesy Car Rental (with FREE parking) and now the Front Yard. I hope Cruz Bay doesn’t get too gentrified (relatively speaking, of course!!).
We are 37 days and counting…

I always had bad vibes from the Front Yard – even before Jamie was murdered – good riddance – first step in cleaning up Cruz Bay (IMO)

By the way, is that construction next to Front Yard and abutting Woody’s the new Banco Popular branch? Hope someone knows.

CTC – Yes, Banco Popular will be in the new building that is under construction, between La Tapa & the police station. STJ will soon have 4 banks!

My understanding is that the new building is the new O’Connors. The rumor has been that Banco Popular would be building on the Front yard site.

Bank #4 will be Merchant’s Bank at Greenleaf Common, I believe.

No way was the yard a shady place. I used to be there every weekend of high school (Gifft Hill!!). Great place, great people, and wonderful memories. It’s so sad to see it gone.
