Sloop’s electric art

That looks like a signature piece of art from the Sloop Jones studio. But look more closely.

That’s actually a circuit breaker box cover painted up by Terry McKoy, aka Sloop.

“In my travels installing satellite systems lately, I’ve been in many homes, and the newer ones of poured concrete seem to have their electric panels in places where they need to be covered,” Sloop says. “Lots of people cover them with wall hangings, but my neighbor Sally decided she wanted me to paint hers.”

And so is born another line of art in the Sloop Jones franchise. A talented artist, and a clever businessman. He’ll probably even get some Website to write about this. (You think?)

As a bonus, commission his work for your box, and you’ll actually be legal.

“VI code says the panels cannot be covered,” Sloop says. (We still think he should paint his satellite dishes.)

   that’s great! I love visiting Sloop’s studio. We were there a few weeks ago and I bought another pillow cover. I love seeing them on my bed every day.
   Anyone know Sloop’s wife’s name? She was so great to us the day we were there.

   Sloop.s wife is Barbara. The electric art is a GREAT idea. He is so talented it never ends.

   We visited Sloop a couple of weeks ago and bought a little dress for the expected granddaughter. The due date is tomorrow!

   How soon until we see a photo of Bongo Bongo circuit breaker box painted by Sloop? This will surely give a nice bump to a home’s value!

   Terry aka Sloop is one of my absolute favorite island people. He is a gem. I always make it apoint to stop by his place and if he isn’t installing satellite dishes I have enjoyed chatting with him about his work and watching his work.

   I have several of his items. Keep up the great work Sloop!!

   Genius! Awesome idea & gorgeous! Loved meeting Sloop last year when we visited his studio…what a thrill.
