Before we get to the beef, we’ve got to make the side dishes. We chose four entries from our readers to compete. Here are the first two entries. Enjoy:

Impressions as I go (Pausing and commenting)

Good move on the oven mitts. I was wondering if we were setting up for a photo shoot of Russ driving your 3rd-degree burnt hands to the clinic.

    Green Onion Sword!

So much cook time. Reason 53 why I don’t make twice baked potatoes…

The spinach looks lovely…but to feed a crowd, you need to start off with roughly a garbage can’s worth of it. Man, does that stuff wilt down.

Food safety always…keep a hat on. (Rob wonders…how much hair does Jeff no longer have?)

Thought I was watching the Food Network!
All that was missing was the “BAM!”
I would have to swim a couple laps in the Bong Bongo pool after these appetizers to make room for the steaks… Noticed that the Becks bottle never moves, product placement.. a new sponsor…or just too busy cooking??
I’m getting my cholesterol meds ready!!!!
Damn I wish I had signed up for the smell-a-vision feature through my ISP…

Everything looked yummy but for those of you not a fan of bleu cheese as myself, I add shredded cheddar cheese and bacon bits to my twice baked potatoes along with the sour cream, milk and scallion and my family just loves them. Variation is a good thing.

    Chef Jeff – Grading Out

Presentation – you gotta get an “A” for beer placement and shirt.

Knife Skills – Again an “A” for flatside knife use!

Only problem now I have to refer to my laptop instead of a cookbook. I’m with Val – can you post the recipes?
