Steak Off! Part Two
Here are the final side dishes we chose. Only one can compete, but both are yummy. Steaks next, but first, mushrooms and a funky baked onion.

What did the onion look like after you grilled it for an hour? I bet it tasted like French onion soup!
Call me if you need a taste tester~

I’ve had the onions before and they are good…surprised me the first time a friend made them in Odessa Texas…so maybe a SW dish?

Very curious about the onions. Those beef cubes have a very intense flavor because when using them you add water. Can’t wait for the taste testers to let us know how they are. Definitely making the mushrooms, I could almost smell them. Yummo!

Nice to see the Becks was finally put to use and not just for decoration.
I think I could take care of that entire pan of mushrooms…and that’s a true story…that’s the honest to God truth!!!

I almost expected to see Paula Deen walk in with all the butter in those recipes…..

Once again we see Jeff missed his true calling. Not only can he cook, but he always has a cold beer close by.

“a little bit of wine and some onion, (in a southern slur kind of way), lets try the wine… like that old guy on the cooking show years back.

I do love these recipes! We do onions on the grill similar…without adding the beef cubes. A pat of butter, wrap with foil tossed on the grill, Serve with steak tips rubbed with lots of St. John Steak Spice~ We will also boil potatoes (as if making potato salad), add chopped fresh garlic & fresh parsley, add butter and what a meal you have!

That old guy on the cooking show from years ago was Justin Wilson, I remember him well.

Quenton,
Are you thinking of the old cajun chef, Justin Wilson? I remember he would cook with “ON-YONS”

I like to cut the onion just about through and into 8ths so when you dump them into a bowl your all set.

So buttery, I can see those glistening lips now. I’m surprised y’all have never had baked Vidalias before? I guess we saved those back from the Yankees!
Cheers, RickG

Just wanted to clarify the recipe. Although Jeff said to cook it for an hour, the recipe calls for about a half hour. Didn’t want anyone having burnt onions!
