Winning calendar name: St. John Citizens

Elaine Estern has chosen a name from all of the suggestions for her 2010 St. John calendar, and it will be called St. John Citizens.
The winning suggestion comes from both Jim and Annette Harper and Sandy Dean, who will get their own autographed version of the calendar.
“There were many great entries that were sent in!” says Elaine. “It was tough to choose but I decided on St. John Citizens because I felt it showed respect for all the creatures that are part of our lives here on the island.”
The runner up was “Surf and Turf.” If that was yours, your prize is knowing you were number two.
The calendar is now at the printer and won’t be available from Elaine’s Coconut Coast Studios for a few more months yet, but here is a sneak peak of a couple of the new paintings it will include.

I can’t wait to receive this calendar & see the rest of the artwork! Ever since I started visting St. John 10 years ago, Elaine’s calendars & artwork have become part of my home in New England. Her work is the best! Congrats to the winners~

I’m glad to see the Coral Bay Y signs immortalized on the calendar. After they were removed, someone put up a sign that said, “Dear Lord, Please Give Us Our Signs Back. Amen.” Then they took that sign down.

Although disappointed, I do congratulate the winners and I am looking forward to the calendar.

I agree with Homer – I’m glad she immortalized that Coral Bay Corner! It’s SOOOOOO boring now. And they even took down that other sign! Crazy….

I will humbly accept 2nd place and am comforted with my prize of knowing I was the runner up. I have to admit I like the winner’s slogan better.
