I have read they are also going to start re-doing the North Shore Road starting in Oct. – this should really up the ante on traffic.

It will be interesting to see how everyone does driving ‘around about it’ when it is complete. Reminds me of driving with a friend in Road Town days after the first ever traffic lights were installed! The flashing yellow later in the evening had the traffic at a standstill. Tortola had full page news ad for weeks on how to interpret each color of the lights. Emmmm, SunTimes….Tradewinds…hey, wait a minute: DMV what a concept!

We finally tried the onions tonight, too.. only I forgot to take them off the grill and they cooked for over two hours! But when we unwrapped them, they were perfect. Tastes a lot like French Onion Soup. We’re going to bring a bunch of them to a party next weekend– easy to make in advance, bring them wrapped and ready to grill. Five stars.

Actually, in all seriousness, I think they’ve been doing a great job, under the circumstances. This is not an endorsement of the concept– or whether we needed it– but Island Roads has had an enormous challenge in keeping the traffic of 5 roads flowing-and safely away from the deep excavations. After a year of driving through it (an average of 5 times a day)I’m impressed.

The reason it’s taking so long is because they’re doing it in phases to avoid having to shut down the entire intersection at once. I too am a “glass half empty” kind of person when it comes to the government here, but I have to say, I think they got it right with this project.

With government project I tend to be a “Glass-half-empty” guy..so I look at is halfway undone…but if it is halfway completed…wouldn’t it be an “arc-about”…or a “semi-circle-about”…?
The truck looks like it’s about to get stuck!
