More about the South Shore Road
Meet Darryl Smalls, Commissioner of the Department of Public Works, who talks a little more about the $4 million stimulus money-funded improvements getting under way on the South Shore Road.
We caught up with Mr. Smalls at Monday’s groundbreaking for the work, near the Westin Resort.

Good reporting guys! You got it right from the horses’ mouth. This road improvement is much needed, just in time for the upcoming season.

Indeed, this is very good reporting. Thanks you guys.
It just won’t be the same though, with that road all smooth and safe. We pretty much had named all of the pot holes.

I hope they do some texturing to the surface of the new road. Last year, when I was driving in a rain storm, all you did was slip and slide. New roads are wonderful as long as they take into consideration the hilly terrain of St. John. And some of the turns need guard rails (steel) not wooden ones that wouldn’t stop a jeep from going over. Well, happy saturday!
