The roundabout’s 6 million dollar man
Meet Butch Brooks, the Federal Highway Administration’s project manager for the Cruz Bay roundabout, and the man responsible for this $6.5 million project. Butch says they are under budget and ahead of schedule.
If all continues to go well, Butch and his crew think they’ll wrap this up in February, four months before the deadline.

You go Butch! I like it already, no problems.

Good job. The locals will catch on in a reasonable time. It’s the tourists that will make it scary. Bring a chair and watch the fun!

I’m impressed…very impressed. I know some will cry foul at the development and progress, but the fact that the project is coming in early really impresses me.
From one project manager to another, I salute thee.

I sure hope Butch is right. So far, I find the roundabout to be chaos, especially around the Boulon Center corner. There are so many entry points in a small area. Butch & Co. have done a great job at keeping the traffic flowing during construction.
Where in the heck are you suppose to park to go to Dolphin Market?

They may want to outfit the rental cars with rubber-baby-buggy-bumpers… If people in Indiana can navigate roundabouts, the folks of St. John should have no problem…

$6 million for a roundabout… lord have mercy. I hate to think how much the islands first Interstate Hwy will cost. Prolly $100 million trillion.

I think it looks like it is coming together really well. I can not wait to try it out in November. Wish me luck!

Totally off topic but Butch Brooks is a very cool name….sounds like a Mad Men character.
You go Butch!

Maybe the rental car agencies on St. John could replace the standard dashboard sticker that currently say “Keep Left,” in favor of a new modified version that says “Keep Left / People on the Rotary Have the Right of Way!” I mean, that’s all the rules of the road on St. John, isn’t it?

Stay left, yield, huh, what? All will make sense after happy hour at Woody’s!

Yeah, but what about the Texaco station?
