Visitors send kids their Punkydoodles

Charles and Glenda Branch, from central Texas, discovered St. John about four years ago, during a family wedding. They’ve been down several times since, and recently decided it was time to give something back.
The couple owns a company called Punkydoodle’s, which manufactures die cut paper shapes sold to elementary schools across the country.
“We would go back and forth through Cruz Bay and pass the [Julius Sprauve] school every trip and wonder how we could help,” says Charles. “So we made arrangements to send a couple of boxes of Punkydoodles to the school.”
The goods eventually got passed around to other schools on island too.
Charles, who is returning to St. John in January, says now that they’ve established a relationship with the school, they’ll make sure the teachers and students get more.
Some of the students even sent the couple a Thank You card, made from some of the paper cutouts of course.

What a wonderful thing to do. When we go next summer, I want to have our older daughter do something for the school. Bring stuff or maybe meet some kids. It would be good for her to see what it’s like to go to school on a small island.

Both the teachers and the children seem very excited about these gifts.

A “Random Act of Kindness” that has touched many. The punkydoodles have been enjoyed by so many children. Teachers are using them for word walls, calendars, rotation schedules, and in all subject areas. Thanks for caring and for your thoughtfulness Mr. and Mrs. Branch.
