The Treasure Map
How do you get people to discover island secrets AND get them to poke their head into stores and restaurants? You create a Treasure Map that incorporates an island scavenger hunt, with some of the clues found at the advertisers.
Meet Jen and Denise, who created Version 1.o of the St. John Treasure Map. Five tours, self-guided or with a driver, that take you around the island to find things you might not otherwise see. It also gets you into advertisers’ businesses, and it may just get you a free trip back to St. John.
But even if none of the above, it costs nothing, and it’s a fun way to spend a day. Or five.

Thanks everyone!
Please check out our website http://www.islandtreasuremaps.com to see how the map works. When you get to St.John, you will find these free maps all over the place – Connections, the information kiosks at Mongoose and The Market Place, all St. John grocery stores, The Westin, Cinnamon Bay, Maho and Concordia Campground, Gallows Pt., The St.John Tourist Information Center, the Kiosk at the Redhook Dock, many of St.John’s villas. Please look for them from the Greeters on the St. John dock, they should be there soon. There are so many more places to find them, just get yourselves down here. If you can’t find a map, then the treasure hunt is not for you!
Have fun, enjoy, learn, create memories, come back!!
Good luck,
Jen & Denise

“If you can’t find a map, then the treasure hunt is not for you!”
That was funny, Jen & Denise.
Great job on this project. We’re all having a lot of fun with it and the treasure hunters we’ve had in the store so far have been upbeat and excited about their quest. We need more maps, though!

What an awesome idea! On a trip to the Cayman Islandss once, I did that for a group of 8. Had a ball. The resort that we standed even through in a free dive package for the winner. Now wouldn’t that be fun.
