I ate a Happy Fish a little over a month ago, and I can’t stop thinking about how wonderful the alternative roll was! BUT I can’t remember what it had in it and I won’t be back in St John for ages….The lemon on top just made the roll. I love Happy Fish!!

My Wife and I ate at Happy Fish for our honeymoon one night and that will make 4 years ago this year. Did they close and reopen? I see that you wrote “for a little over 2 years now?” Either way, We love it there!

I eat at Happy Fish more than any other place on St. John. I never like sushi, but when my husband and I met three years ago we gave it a try because he is a pescetarian and I eat all meat. We would always sit at the sushi bar and they broke us in nice and slow. We’ve been known to eat there 4 times a week (when the economy was better!) We’ve tried sushi in the states and have come to the conclusion that we can’t find anything as good as Happy Fish. What I really like about these guys is that if it isn’t fresh, then they don’t have it. It’s really hard to get super fresh stuff here and they are pretty good at getting it, but if they can’t, they wont serve it to you. And it’s not that expensive…we never have a bill over $100 for really full tummies and a few drinks each. YOU DON’T HAVE TO LIKE SUSHI to go here…plenty of cooked and meat options on the menu! Also plenty of parking and A/C inside.

i have eaten there at least once a week since they opened and gladly pay the price for an excellent meal. the staff is better than most and we’ll miss larry behind the sushi bar but wish he well in his new adventure!

I decided years ago that when eating sushi, don’t worry about the price, just order what you want and enjoy it. A great sushi meal is worth every penny! Looking forward to trying Happy Fish.

Happy Fish is one of my favorite restaurants on St. John- I make sure I go at least once every time I visit. It is the freshest sushi I have ever tasted-the rolls are inventive and awesome (Jackie B is my favorite). The appetizers and sashimi are far above the quality I have had ANY place else-anywhere. The prices are beyond reasonable for sushi-i would usually expect my bill to be much higher considering the quality and the outstanding service. I love to sit at the sushi bar and tell the chefs to surprise me-I have never been disappointed. Happy Fish is a true gem on St. John-a must visit!

Ah Colleen, from one sushi craver to another…sorry you missed out after your long trip! Looking forward to trying Happy Fish in March – it looks delicious and lovely.
