The St John Source newspaper says from stimulus funds recieved by the VI National Parks "Lameshur Road will get $25,000 worth of gravel to repair spots like the one near the Salt Pond end of the road where crews recently removed a huge rock that impeded traffic. Hardgrove said that some of the road's steeper areas will receive a concrete coating. That will also cost about $25,000." 3/8/2010

You get to know where they are and automatically know that, "after these three on need to drive on the right for 20 yards, then back left along the edge until..." That works until it rains and things soften and vehicles make all of the ruts and holes move. Then you have to learn your road all over again until the next rain. I just figured the fade outs were public service features provided by the OSJ staff to give people an idea of what it is like to drive on St. John after too many painkillers and why it isn't a good idea to drink and drive... Seeing all those holes in the road reminds me of driving right here in Indiana...
