It’s all a very beautiful pedestal for the now pathetic looking telephone pole that remains at the gravitational center of this new island roundabout. Sure the art will be lost on some, but in my opinion they should leave it that way – an immaculate metaphor for life in the Virgin Islands.

Well, that is the solution! Could you imagine how long it would take to lay bricks (on island time)? Attractive, less expensive and more productive. What is the official date for the roundabout to be “completed”?
Happy Tuesday!

Wouldn’t a Merry-Go-Round have been a fun thing to put here? Especially turning counterclockwise! Woo hoo!

Hope it’s done by the time I get there in October!

Nice touch! Just hope it withstands the heavy truck traffic that can’t make the turn, no matter how much space they have.
Anyone remember the stonewall and date palm in the middle of the road by Nature’s….. long gone….

I can’t figure out why they didn’t bury the power lines coming into the circle and get rid of that utility pole in the middle, while all the streets were dug up there. That would have been much nicer.

Do you think stamped concrete is a good idea? Snow plows are really tough on it…

As I understand it, the power lines will be undergrounded, and the telephone pole will be removed.

Ruth, maybe you can get some island artists together to paint the Telephone pole?
I know it sounds silly but someone painted one in my hometown several years ago and it really looks great.
