Roanoke returns

Our favorite barge is back.

The Roanoke returns with a brand new ramp and a fresh paint job, including mustard yellow interior.

And the palm trees survived the rehab.

It’s amusing to me to realize how excited I am to hear news about a barge… But maybe it’s because I’ll be on it next Thursday…

Hey, my wife said she was taking the car to get a wash and here I see it coming off the Roanoke… could she be trying to tell me something?

I would imagine you have to be a villa owner, resident or frequent visitor to fully appreciate a post about the car ferry. To all of you, happy day! Now if I could just break into your club…

The Roanoke is our favorite also… Woo-hoo!

Though some folks refer to it as the “Sloanoke”, those extra minutes on the upper deck with the palm trees and a cold one facilitate the switch from the in-transit travel rush to St. John Island time. :-)

Sitting here in windy, rainy, gloomy Gilbertsville, Pa looking at the picture of a spiffy barge under sunny, blue skies wishing I was in that red car! May 3rd can’t come soon enough!

Hey Charles, like I told Anne (another blogger), I hope to be at the Beach Bar around 7:00 on Monday May 3rd. So if you’re anywhere near there, stop in and give a shout out to me. I’ll do the same for you and Anne. Love to meet fellow bloggers. Till then, stay safe.
