Pig Roast fundraiser Saturday for JFLI

Meet Mr. Alvis Christian Sr., founder, operator and sole fundraiser for the John’s Folly Learning Institute.
The John’s Folly Learning Institute runs free camps for St. John kids, mostly those in the Coral Bay area, organizing things like hikes at Reef Bay, swimming lessons at Salt Pond and even yoga classes for kids.
JFLI also organizes off-island trips for kids, and is planning one later this month to Puerto Rico. But it’s about $3,000 short of what it needs for the trip, and so JFLI is raising money the St. John way…with a pig roast tomorrow.
The pig roast, with all the trimmings, starts at 4:30 pm at the Institute and there’s no entrance fee. There will be steel pan music by Roscoe, a cash bar and the roasting of the pig is being handled by local chef Boozie.
If you’re on island, stop by and support a good cause.
And if you’re off island, helping something that finds things for kids on St. John to do is always a good way to show your support. Donations are welcome: John’s Folly Learning Institute, 16348 Estate Hard Labor, St. John, USVI 00830

Pig Roast was a blast but they still need support for the upcoming trip, etc!
