Sadie Sea takes Jost kids on field trip

St. John charter boat Sadie Sea donated some time on the water earlier this month to the Jost Van Dykes Preservation Society for a field trip to take Jost kids to the Sandy Cay Habitat Management area.
Sandy Cay is the BVI’s newest National Park, established in 2008, and next time you’re lucky enough to stop there, look for the new monument built to commemorate the park.
Sadie Sea took 25 kids and 5 adults to visit Sandy Cay and then back to Jost for lunch.
Tom and Amy Larson bought Sadie Sea from its longtime owners in 2009, and continue charters and work with the National Park to bring Reef Bay trail hikers back to Cruz Bay.
Haven’t been to Sandy Cay in awhile? Pay a visit with Capt. John Brandi, below!…

I snuck Miles over to Sandy Cay once many years ago. We were there very early in the morning. Miles and I walked to the end of the beach. When we turned around to walk back I saw Miles’ paw prints in the sand and thought “Oh no. Someone’s gonna see these and think there’s a bear running loose on this island!”. Miles LOVED Sandy Cay. I am so glad Sandy Cay is a BVI National Park now and I love this story. Cheers to Sadie Sea for giving these kids such a great trip! -c
