The Moonshine Menu
Here’s the menu for the new Moonshine Steak & Seafood Grill. (Click the picture to enlarge.)
This is an overview of what they’ll be offering.
Prices are still being worked out, but entrees will run between $25 and $40, and we’re told the menu will be printed daily, and based on what produce and seafood is available.
They’re definitely going for the splurge dining crowd. They’ve certainly got the venue for those kind of prices. The service and the food will need to match it.
Moonshine Steak & Seafood Grill hopes to open sometime during the week of May 7.

Let’s hope Moonshine is better than Cactus. Advertised as Texan Mexican food, lived in Texas all my life and had never tasted Mexican like that before! Boiling brisket/roast and serving as fajitas, I don’t think so, if ya’ll are really Texans, show us what you got!

I guess the demise of Cactus tells what STJ thought of Tex-Mex. Best of luck opening at the beginning of hurricane season. Restaurants stateside are not doing that well either but certainly the challenge of opening a new venue on STJ is a bigger challenge by far. But who knows, look at the stats, the 1% are spending money like it’s going out of style so maybe the high end menu is just the right thing. Middle class people are cooking at home now but for those who “splurge” every day as part of their life this new place might be just what they want. “LET THEM EAT STEAK!” (If they can afford it.) Seriously, good luck Moonshine.

The menu looks great, can’t wait to try a good steak and those sides. As I said yesterday I wish them all the luck in their new venture and I am glad to see the change. No need for negative talk, let’s support our local businesses. Good luck Moonshine! Buy local.

hi. hopefully none of this stuff will be frozen, like your stuffed mushrooms, creamed spinach. It is obvious. I can see the house sauces becoming disgusting. pre-made in a large quantity. then frozen. There are a handful of top places here, and the rest serve the same variation on the same crap ingredients from merchants.
NO FROZEN ANYTHING.

The menu looks appealing but put some crispy crumbled bacon on that wedge salad and I’ll try it out this summer. Will Moonshine be open for lunch?

They might want to go with conventional spelling:
tarRagon

portObello

I don’t see any prices. How can you have a menu without prices?
April 30th, 2012 07:58
I guess if you have to ask, you can’t afford it? I like Uncle Joe’s……it’s good and affordable….

No prices because they are still being worked out, and the range sounds about right for those options. The menu looks good! Love the seafood selection…I will have a Fat Fish please. We usually have at least one splurge dinner and this would make the list!

While I ate at Cactus two or three times, I wasn’t that impressed. Each time I returned, I hoped it would be better (our first trip was only a week after they opened and had no liquor license). I wish someone would open a decent Mexican restaurant….most of what is on this menu I can get at several other restaurants on island.
