Flashback Friday: Chilly Billy’s

Do you remember Chilly Billy’s?
The Lumberyard restaurant changed ownership and became Jake’s in May 2008, continuing a tradition of hearty and inexpensive food for the last four years.
Chilly Billy’s was an institution.
Hear about how Chilly Billy’s came to be and where the name came from, as told to us by family member Christy Dove a couple of years ago, below.

Was 10 Tables part of the place from the beginning, or did that come later?

Welllll, I appologize for this in advance, but I cannot help myself…..There could have been two names of that place, if it was Chilly Billy’s……..it could just as easily been names Little Willy’s……… *Groan*……

You are too much, Caribert, in a good way!
I remember Chilly Billy’s from my ’05 trip. Had a great breakfast and bought a T-shirt for my brother Bill. He still wears it!

Thanks very much for sharing this, it was a real treat. We ate at Chilly Billy’s and were disappointed when we came back and saw the same place with a new name. But Jakes’s turned out to be a great place and we have enjoyed going back there again and again for the last several years.

It was one of the first places on St John we went. The french toast was so unbelievable. I wish I had the receipt. We love Jake’s but not the same french toast.
