Lunch of the Week: Ronnie’s Pizza
Today’s Lunch of the Week takes us to Ronnie’s Pizza An’ Mo’ in Cruz Bay. Here we have the small Meat Lover’s Pizza for $17 (or $25 for a large), but you can get much more creative at Ronnie’s, like the Veggie Pizza, the Neapolitan, the Tex-Mex or the Pesto Pizza. Slices to go too. Dine in or carry out. Free Wi-Fi while you wait. Ronnie’s fiercely protected customer-only parking makes it an easy stop.

Calzones are fabulous!! The ‘library’ is a great source of ‘take one, leave one’ (no Barnes and Nobles handy). Ronnie’s charity work is great, too. Go Ronnie

Ronnie’s pizza is freakin’ awesome.
But I learned a little about him personally on my last trip. I was on Jost and just happened to be having a Painkiller (imagine that) with a “former” stranger. For whatever reason, I mentioned to him I had just had Ronnie’s pizza the night before and how good it was and he told me a little story. Turns out this guy now lives in the states but used to live on STJ. When he moved down there many years before he, like many before him, didn’t have a lot of money when he got there. Evidently his money ran out before he could get his car registered in the islands and transferred from STT to STJ. He was around $100 short and figured he would be walking for a while until he scraped up the rest. He was in Ronnie’s place and during the course of their conversation the issue came up. Though Ronnie did not know him he asked him how much he needed to get his car. When he said $100 Ronnie reached into his cash register, pulled out $100, handed it to him and told him to go get his car. He said he could pay it back when he could. I thought that was pretty cool. And it gives me another reason, besides the good food, to stop in each time I’m on island.

It’s the first nights meal every year when we get on island. The best pizza on St. John! Great people too!

That is the best looking pizza I’ve seen in ages. Ronnie’s is on my list for July now.

Ronnie’s is on my list every time I come. I could actually eat it every night if I let myself.
