Where’s the beach at Cinnamon Bay?

Sometimes Cinnamon Beach just goes away.

OSJ reader Chris grabbed this Webcam shot from La Jolla Caribe Villa Saturday, with a lot of the beach taken over by high surf. It happens this time of year.

Don’t worry. The beach comes back. Check out this video of Cinnamon last March. The surfers love it like this.

Thanks guys! That video was crazy! We only ever see Cinnamon in June and it’s hard to tell what is really happening from the web cams. It’s hard to believe our peaceful cinnamon gets so violet- looks like what we encounter on the east coast.
Thanks again! See you all in 85 days.

It can change day to day. One day the surf might be breaking into the sea grapes, and the beach is gone. The next day, the beach has magically and wonderfully reappeared…

I hope the beach is back by the end of May. We have been there first part of Nov. & it was literally under water. (Tomas). We have the waves here on the East coast so I much prefer the calm, tranquil water lapping gently at my feet. Snorkeling is much better with calm waters too.

This is why we have Maho Bay… and Salt Pond… calm… soothing… mmm…
