Vintage USVI Transfer Day video

The USVI is already making plans for what should be a big day this winter: The 100th anniversary of Transfer Day.

The Danish government officially transferred its Virgin Islands to the U.S. government, for the bargain price of $25 million, on March 17, 1917.

The Tourism Department is ramping up a big advertising campaign. The Senate’s working on an official Transfer Day bill. There’s even a Virgin Islands Centennial 2017 Facebook page.
